PC Spotlight - Domnatus Lucent
Our player who was playing Adolphus Frug decided he wanted something a bit different and rolled a Human Warlock of the Undying Light named Domnatus Lucent. He's level 4 with the rest of the characters and his stats below reflect that. Also his reward items follow:
Glim of Positivity: A thin, white candle is inscribed with runes of various lawful good deities. When the candle is lit, it sheds dim light in a 30-foot radius; lets lawful good characters have advantage on attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks; and grants a lawful good spellcaster the ability to cast 1st-level spells without expending spell slots. The wick can burn for 3 hours before all the wax expires. It requires attunement.
Hat of Disguise*:*** This black leather hat lets the wearer cast the disguise self spell at will. It requires attunement.

Domnatus Lucent - Human Warlock
The light of the Companion shines across the plains of Elturgard. This holy wonder brings pilgrims of all kinds to Elturel. The devout, the curious, the afflicted--all come to bathe in its warmth and see its shining light by night. And the true knights of the kingdom are held to the highest standard, hewn to a series of oaths that bind them together and to uphold the greater good. It is a blessed kingdom, and many of its citizens trust that it will last forever. But an Inquisitor cannot be so trusting...
The Inquisition was formed in secret, an office designed to protect the Creed Resolute. Led by Inquisitor-General Solomon Leandros and answerable directly to the High Observer, the Inquisition's responsibility is not to the individuals of the realm, but to the surety of the peace. The Companion's light shines now, but since none know how or why it came to be, nothing can be taken for granted. These Inquisitors search after those who work to cut short the brilliance of this place, wherever such evil might reside. And so it is the job of the Inquisition to shine a light into the darkness of people's souls as well as on the darkness across the land.
Thus the Inquisitors of Elturgard must bring light to dark places far from their home. They come from many backgrounds and range far and wide, but they share a zeal for truth and a spirit of adventure. As much as every Inquisitor stands together in mission, they stand apart in method and approach. To find the truth, some choose to blend in, and thus many Inquisitors lead or join adventuring parties. These independent men and women search for hints that may unearth conspiracy or they simply fight against injustice wherever they find it.
Domnatus Lucent is one such Inquisitor. A man of some forty years, Domnatus is marked by his blinding white hair and solemn manner. Covered in scars, he stands tall, his stride long and confident as a soldier's. Like all Inquisitors, he must differ from the Companions and other defenders of Elturgard by hiding his zeal for justice, and yet his connection to the fight for good is at once more real and more tangible than these common soldiers.
As a boy, the young Domnatus was raised by his parents, in the outskirts of Scornubel under the light of the Companion. A city of shadows in the country of light, Scornubel is famous mostly for being a great trading hub in the Kingdom of Two Suns, but it was for the small family a prison. Indebted to the thieves guild that controlled much of the lower trades, the two parents and their son struggled to supply their masters with the necessary wares that paid for their cramped stall that doubled as sleeping-quarters and workshop.
Struggles in the thieve's guild hierarchy placed Gabriel Tarn in Domnatus' path. This new overseer took the squalid conditions as an insult, and Domnatus' father attempted to defend his honor by striking the guild representative Gabriel. Domnatus could do nothing as the overseer turned and cut his father's throat. As he screamed in horror, Dom clutched his mother and prayed to the gods. As the father's body fell to the ground, Gabriel Tarn coolly appraised the boy and his mother. What was done was done, and witnesses could not be allowed to sink his career.
What happened next, Domnatus could not remember. He slowly came to as a blinding light slowly faded from his eyes to reveal the darkened interior of his home. How much time had passed, he couldn't know. As he began to take stock of his surroundings, Domnatus noticed he was covered in blood. His own blood. And next to him, his mother's body was strewn alongside his father's. They were dead. But what struck Domnatus the most was that he could not remember their names. He could only remember the name Gabriel Tarn, emblazoned in his mind.
He had died and the scars were still left on his body, and yet he had been touched by a power beyond the veil and brought back to the world. All of a sudden, feelings of despair and horror rushed and overwhelmed the young lad, and he fell to his knees. Domnatus screamed into the night, his voice full of anguish at his powerlessness to save his family. But something was different. The power that had brought him back was there inside his soul. And it truly was something new and powerful, this raw stuff of life. Recovering from his scream, Domnatus wiped the blood from his face and reached out to touch the killer's knife, left behind and covered in his family's blood. His fingers connected with the blade's edge and the weapon came alight with a divine brilliance.
In the city of Elturel, Inquisitor Solomon Leandros began to hear stories of a boy that possessed a divine touch but followed no god. Since such a thing could not be, the Inquisitor made it his mission to find this impossibility, and quench the heresy before it could spread. The implications of these rumors might unseat the status quo long maintained by the Creed Resolute, so he at once departed to find the source of these mutterings. It didn't take long for Solomon's investigation to lead him to Domnatus. The Inquisitor took the young boy from his meager existence to find from whence this power came.
Though Inquisitor Leandros was a gifted Cleric and a student of magic, it was not an easy mystery to solve. Bound to no god, Domnatus could draw on energy seemingly from within himself to create light. Near as Solomon could tell, Domnatus' power came from the pure energy of the Positive Plane, rather than any sorcerous origin or other magic. Such an individual was sure to attract attention, so the Inquisitor decided to bring the boy back to Elturel and in order to learn more and hide the ungodly origins of his powers.
As the years passed and Solomon was promoted to the post of Inquisitor-General, the boy Domnatus grew into a man. While at first their relationship was akin to that of a scientist and a jealously-guarded curiosity, Dom was eventually able to secure Solomon's trust. Dom became the Inquisitor-General's eyes and ears, his ward and his assistant. As he grew, so too did his control over his power. He was able to draw more from his connection to the light, and saw it as a gift. Just as the Companion arose in Elturel's moment of need years ago, perhaps his power could serve the people and the greater good.
While he would never forget the name of Gabriel Tarn, the man who had killed him, Domnatus spent his years focused on preserving the peace and protecting the Creed Resolute. He was inducted as an Inquisitor, dedicating his life to driving out the evil that that had changed his destiny. It was in his early forties when he began to hear about the work of the Cult of the Dragon, yet another group that might threaten the safety of his home...
